Overview
CMG is seeking an experienced Mechanical Test Technician specializing in environmental, mechanical, and dynamics vibration/shock testing. This is a hands-on role that requires interaction with various customers and entails performing multiple tasks associated with customer programs. The position primarily operates during the first shift, with core hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Electrodynamic and Hydraulic Shakers, Shock Test Machines, Temperature Chambers, multi-meters, etc.
  • Program vibration software (Unholtz-Dickie and Vibration Research) to conduct vibration, shock, and similar tests
  • Gather necessary support equipment for testing, including controllers, accelerometers, and fixtures
  • Follow specifications from technical documents, such as test standards, customer specifications, and test plans/procedures
  • Maintain and document detailed notes throughout the testing process
  • Complete test notes and reports in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and identify problems with equipment
  • Perform necessary repairs and maintenance
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in laboratory testing related to mechanical, environmental, and dynamics vibration/climatics
  • Familiarity with test standards (e.g. MIL-STD-810)
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying concepts, ideas, and routine details to various levels of technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to communicate with management and customers about progress, test anomalies, and other issues
  • Capability to think ahead in setups and foresee potential problems
  • Aptitude to support multiple projects with a constant quality focus in a deadline-driven environment
  • Team player with the ability to work independently when required
  • Basic skills in using hand tools such as Allen keys, wrenches, and socket wrenches

Overview
CMG is seeking an EMC Test Technician to support customer test programs for FCC and CE compliance. This is a hands-on role that involves frequent interaction with customers, configuration of test setups, and execution of EMC tests in a fast paced, client focused laboratory environment. The position is primarily a first shift role, with core hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned EMC tests in accordance with test plans, standards, and customer requirements
  • Configure client hardware and software test platforms, including EUT (Equipment Under Test) setup
  • Take EUT photographs and document test configurations with accurate and complete diagrams
  • Analyze causes of EUT compliance failures and assist in troubleshooting issues
  • Document test data thoroughly and accurately, including dates, pass or fail criteria and results, history of events, test equipment used and calibrations, and other pertinent data
  • Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory agency standards pertaining to assigned compliance tests (for example FCC and CE requirements)
  • Differentiate between related standards and answer customer questions accurately and professionally
  • Perform regular or periodic internal calibrations using established calibration procedures
  • Justify EUT test configurations and verify that all applicable tests are completed
  • Follow written test plans and instructions for selected compliance tests
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Two or more years of testing experience in a fast paced, client focused EMC laboratory
  • Understanding of EMI and EMC related technologies and equipment, such as amplifiers, test chambers, EMI receivers, and antennas
  • Experience working within an ISO 17025 quality system
  • Working knowledge of major Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds

  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and customers regarding progress, test anomalies, and other issues

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline

 

Education
Associates or Trade School qualifications in Electronics or a related technical field are welcome.
